David Benedek the founder

Born in Paris in 1989 to a Romanian father and a mother from the border region between Algeria and Morocco, David Benedek grew up surrounded by the world of perfumery. His grandparents, exiled from Transylvania, were among the first people authorized to distribute prestigious fragrance houses such as Worth and Christian Dior in Paris during the 1950s. They later specialized in selling perfumes and luxury goods to international visitors in the French capital, opening their first boutique in the 1960s at the corner of rue Royale and rue Saint-Honoré. From one generation to the next, the family’s expertise in fragrance continued to grow. David studied economics before moving to Beijing and New York in 2010 to pursue his education. Upon returning to France, he enrolled at the Institut Français de la Mode in 2012, where he chose to specialize in the world of perfume and cosmetics. For over a year, he trained to recognize key raw materials, olfactive families, and their nuances, before honing his skills in the complex process of fragrance creation. Through scent, discovery, and recognition, David immersed himself in the art of perfumery alongside the teams at Givaudan. This passion gradually transformed into a calling. Determined to deepen his knowledge, he continued his training with the Institut Cinquième Sens, which helped him shape the olfactory world that would become the foundation of BDK Parfums.

From each singular fragrance emerges a personality, a unique way of being. From this personality flows an allure, a movement that gives free rein to the imagination the beginning of a story waiting to be told.

Olfactory approach

Our perfumes are unique, crafted with passion and emotion. They are part of a modern olfactory library, rich with stories and dreams.

Each BDK Parfums fragrance begins with the choice of a singular raw material—one that becomes the starting point of creation. Our intent is to reveal all its nuances, express its character, and give it a new identity and personality, without ever compromising its true essence.

From each of these distinctive compositions emerges a sense of style and movement—awakening the senses and imagination, allowing for the creation of a personal and unique narrative.

Our approach is rooted in sincerity, a deep respect for the ingredients, and the authentic craftsmanship of our French artisans and partners. All our perfume concentrates are produced in the Grasse region, the cradle of perfumery. It is through the pursuit of the finest raw materials and a constant quest for excellence that we aim to tell the most beautiful stories with every creation.

THE BOTTLE
AND ITS ELEMENTS

French craftsmanship and the country’s perfume industry are renowned worldwide for their unparalleled expertise. Choosing to produce everything entirely "made in France" was a natural decision. It is essential for us to contribute to the prestige of our heritage and highlight its richness and uniqueness, in order to ensure the development of products of the highest quality.
The bottle, cap, label, and box are all manufactured in France.

1.

The cap is developed in the Parisian region by a traditional jeweler and goldsmith. Designed as a tribute to one of the most iconic monuments in Paris, the cap is inspired by the architecture of the Grand Palais dome. A symbol of innovation, creation, and freedom, it hosts the most prestigious French and international exhibitions.

2.

The beveled bottle is crafted by a master glassmaker based in Normandy. After being made, it is re-fired, giving it a unique transparency and brilliance. The color of the fragrance it holds is thus enhanced and highlighted.

The label is produced by a printing house in Bordeaux. Edited and personalized for each collection, it is applied by hand to each bottle.

Finally, the box, resembling a bookbinding, is crafted by a family-owned company in the Le Mans region. The ink used is of natural origin, and the paper, dyed in the mass, is recycled. When placed side by side, the boxes form an encyclopedia of fine perfumes.
