An independent perfumer-creator house, nestled in the Palais Royal district of Paris, BDK Parfums has been creating singular fragrances since 2016, imbued with allure, passion and character. Inspired by moments and instants, our creations echo the world of words and storytelling, inspiring tales as imaginary as they are real. With no predefined roadmap, guided by the meticulous work of our artisans and the richness of our raw materials, the House composes exceptional fragrances.
DAVID BENEDEK
the founder
Born in Paris in 1989 to a father of Romanian descent and a mother born on the border between Algeria and Morocco, David Benedek grew up immersed in the world of perfumery. His grandparents, exiled from Transylvania, were among the first people authorised to distribute illustrious fragrance houses such as Worth and Christian Dior in Paris in the 1950s. They went on to specialise in selling perfumes and luxury goods to foreign clients visiting the capital, and opened their first boutique in the 1960s, at the corner of rue Royale and rue Saint-Honoré.
From father to son, the family’s expertise in fragrance deepened over the years. David studied economics, then moved to Beijing and New York in 2010 to pursue his studies.
On his return, he entered the Institut Français de la Mode in 2012, where he specialised in perfume and cosmetics. For more than a year, he learned to recognise the principal raw materials, the olfactory families and their facets, before refining his knowledge of the steps involved in creating a fragrance. To smell, to discover, to recognise: he became attuned to the subtleties of this world alongside the teams at Givaudan.
A passion that gradually became a need: that of making it his profession. He resolved to continue his training with the Institut Cinquième Sens, which helped him shape his olfactory universe, the cornerstone of the perfume house BDK Parfums.

Each BDK Parfums fragrance begins with the choice of a single raw material, which becomes the starting point of the creation. The aim is to draw out every subtlety and translate every character, while personifying it and endowing it with a new identity, a new personality, without ever distorting its very essence.
From each of these fragrances, unique in nature, spring allure and movement, awakening the senses and the imagination and inspiring the building of a free and singular story.
It is a sincere approach, one of respect for materials and for the authentic savoir-faire of our French artisans and collaborators, which we are proud to showcase. All our perfume concentrates are made in the Grasse region. It is a search for the finest materials, a quest for excellence in every creation, to deliver and write the most beautiful stories.
French craftsmanship
French craftsmanship and the French perfume industry possess unparalleled savoir-faire, renowned worldwide. Choosing to manufacture entirely in France was a natural decision. It is important to us to contribute to the influence of our heritage and to highlight its richness and exceptional quality, so as to ensure the development of products of the highest standard. The bottle, cap, label and box are all entirely made in France.
The cap
The cap is developed in the Paris region by a traditional silversmith. It was designed as a tribute to the architecture of the dome of the Grand Palais in Paris. This venue, home to the finest French and international exhibitions, is the symbol of a city where creation and freedom reign supreme.
The bottle
The beveled bottle is made by a master glassmaker based in Normandy. Fire-polished after it is made, it has a unique transparency and brilliance that enhances the color of the fragrance it contains.
The boxes
The boxes are crafted by a family-owned company in the Le Mans region. The ink used is of natural origin, and the papers, dyed in the pulp, are recycled and recyclable.
The label
The label, applied by hand, was produced by a printing house in Bordeaux.
