David Benedek
The founder
Born in Paris in 1989 to a Romanian father and a mother from the border between Algeria and Morocco, David Benedek was immersed in the world of perfumery from an early age. His grandparents, exiles from Transylvania, were pioneers in the Parisian perfume industry, being among the first to distribute prestigious brands like Worth and Christian Dior in the 1950s. They eventually specialized in selling perfumes and luxury goods to foreign visitors in Paris, opening their first boutique in the 1960s at the corner of Rue Royale and Rue Saint-Honoré. The family's expertise in perfumes was passed down from generation to generation. David studied economics and then moved to Beijing and New York in 2010 for further education. Upon returning to Paris, he joined the Institut Français de la Mode in 2012, focusing on the perfume and cosmetics industry. For over a year, he trained to identify the main raw materials, olfactory families, and their nuances, honing his skills in fragrance creation. Working with the Givaudan teams, David deepened his understanding of the subtleties of perfumery. His passion gradually turned into a vocation, leading him to continue his training at the Cinquième Sens Institute. This experience helped him refine his olfactory universe, laying the foundation for the BDK Parfums perfume house.
Each unique fragrance embodies a distinct personality and way of being. This personality exudes an allure, inspiring movements that unleash the imagination and tell a particular story.David Benedek
Olfactory
Approach
Our fragrances stand out because they are designed from the heart. Our collection resembles a modern bookstore, and we craft our scents like a perfumery apothecary. Our approach to fragrance creation is different because we strive for the perfect balance, allowing each scent to express itself through unique olfactory facets. From the beginning, our goal has been to focus on a main raw material, giving it character and depth while also embodying aspirational qualities. This core idea then guides the distinct olfactory facets that define each BDK Parfums creation. Each fragrance reveals a unique personality and way of being. Just as the most beautiful stories arise from the finest raw materials, BDK Parfums allows these materials to express themselves fully and elegantly in every creation. That's why all our perfume concentrates are made in the Grasse region, known for its exceptional quality.
THE BOTTLE
AND ITS
COMPONENTS
The French perfume industry and its craftsmanship are renowned worldwide for their unparalleled expertise. Choosing to manufacture entirely in France was a natural decision for us. It is essential to contribute to the prestige of our heritage and showcase its richness and uniqueness, ensuring the development of the highest quality products. Every element - bottle, cap, label, and box - is produced by French manufacturers.
1.
The bottle cap is crafted in Paris by a traditional goldsmith. Inspired by one of Paris's most iconic landmarks, the hood is designed to echo the contours of the dome that crowns the Grand Palais. This architectural marvel symbolizes innovation, creativity, and freedom, hosting some of the most prestigious exhibitions.
2.
The beveled perfume bottle is crafted by a master glassmaker located in Normandy. It undergoes a re-burning process after fabrication, resulting in unparalleled transparency and brilliance. This enhances and sublimates the color of the fragrance it holds, creating a captivating visual effect.

The label is produced by a printer in the Marais district of Paris. Tailored and customized for each collection, it is meticulously applied by hand to each bottle.
4.
Finally, the box, resembling a bookbinding, is crafted by a family-owned business in the Le Mans region. The ink used is of natural origin, and the paper is dyed throughout its mass, ensuring it is recycled and sustainable.
